Ive seen in the past a metal spring deal with two eyelets on the ends for securing things that required a lot of stretching.

My grapple hoses are dragging/just getting in the way, I'm afraid tbey are gonna catch something.

Can someone tell me the name for that springy thing that might work.

Also after a week of sitting my legs on my backhoe leak down a little, no way to lock them that I can see. Am I missing something?

can't help with the name but you see them alot on snow blowers with the chute rotation. I know I have seen pictures on this forum

You can try zip-ties as a temporary fix, just be sure to leave slack in the lines. As for the spring, I would think that most any spring would work if it's strong enough, I'd use one of those radiator hose clamps as a way to attach the spring to the hydraulic hoses.

Not as elegant maybe, but some bungees will work until you find what you are looking for. That was my plan only the bungees are still there after more than 10 years.

I would vote for rubber bungees too; easy to use and replace. Take the hook out of one end of the bungee and hook the other end into the hole

It looks as if the hoses are a little too long. What about slackening off the two 90 degree bend couplings and altering the angle.

I use bungees & prefer them for holding hoses. If an elegant solution is the mechanically correct one, then bungees get an "A".

Bungees allow the hose to stretch and bend in any direction it needs to - but without any hard edges. They don't rust, or abrade when the rub, and they are simple to adjust properly.

I buy several at a time & keep the right length ones as replacement spares right on the same shelf box that holds the spare filters, oil, and fuel additive.
Buy them longer than needed and make several wraps to use up the unwanted length. That makes the best use of the elasticity and also keeps them from slipping.

The hoses have to be too long when in the horizontal position to allow the Grapple to be rotated forward. Mine don't quite touch the ground but come very close. They are extended straight when curled forward.

Yes - long hoses. I use multiple bungees. From the center of the hoses to the eyelet where the load leveler rod use to go thru. Works fine.

davrow, I'll let you know how the Everything Attachments hose saver works out. I just ordered one on Sat; expect to receive it sometime this week or next. I don't quite know how well it will fit onto my loader yet though; and I kinda wish I'd waited because the bungee cord seems to be quite popular and looks as if works well. Would've been much cheaper. $65 with tax and then $8 for shipment past 1,000 miles, so totals out to about $73. Could've bought quite a few sets of bungee's for that. I didn't think of it though. Oh well. Greg

Hopefully this will make you feel better... I tried bungees first. They didn't work well for me.

If I made them loose for grapple work, they sagged way too much when grapple was off.

Mine is not quite like what EA now offers. Hopefully that type will work for you.

The bungees in my post - #15 - show two types. The covered & uncovered type. That picture is three years old. Since that time I've gone to the covered( wrapped ) type only. The uncovered type will show signs of weathering in a year or so. The covered ones don't. I will replace either of the two wrapped ones at the first sign of weathering. I've used bungees because that's what I had immediately available at the time.

Also - I have both hydraulic hoses wrapped with spiral wound "hose wrap"( look closely at the picture). This stuff is tougher than "whang leather". This wrap still didn't keep the hoses off the ground but provided ultimate abrasion protection. Then came the bungees. The "hose wrap" is tough on the fingers to install - thank goodness it only has to be done once. I've used the "hose wrap" on the hoses for the hydraulic top link - out back - as well.
