Keeper nut on disc harrow

I have a 66" disc harrow. The front left discs (blades) are a little loose. I have tried all I can think of to remove the keeper nut, (large cresent wrench with cheater) heat. Does anyone know if the threads on this nut is left or right hand? the nut is 1 and 5/8 inch.

Doubt anyone can answer such a generic question. Without knowing make and model of said disc. Or without pictures.

Is there enough threads showing to determine if left or right handed? Any pictures? Have you tried BOTH directions.

Left or right hand thread really shouldn't matter if the gang is loose. It should be able to turn either direction. Once it turns you can determine left vs right. But try both ways. Im guessing you just ain't got enough leverage. They are supposed to be real tight.

And how are you hearing it. Little butane torch just won't be enough for a nut that large. You need a oxy torch

Soak the nut with Creep or other rust remover. Use a socket in 3/4" or larger drive with a long handle breaker bar. I had a nut on one of my dozers that required a 5 foot pipe on the breaker bar to break loose.

Try forcing the nut in both directions till it starts to move. by then you will know what direction it comes off.
dont use a crescent wrench... if you screw it up its harder to remove.

If all else fails cut the nut in two places and remove.

The old disks I use have square nuts on the gangs, I use a 24" pipe wrench (I'd use it on hex too....) and as long of cheater pipe as I can find. Pipe wrench is directly in line with the nut and not off set like a socket or box end wrench, doesn't spread like a open end wrench or adjustable. It grabs tighter the more pressure...

Should be regular threads...

I have a rather smallish Land Pride disk harrow. One outside disk got loose. I used a HD impact socket - my large impact wrench - soaking the nut for a week in WD40. It was not easy but finally broke loose. Thank God - all the remaining disks were tight.

Got it off - cleaned the threads on the nut and shaft. NeverSeize liberally spread on the shaft threads - tightened it back up.

What he said, pipe wrench and long piece of pipe as a breaker bar, any that I have ever worked on were standard right hand thread and like someone else said earlier a good soaking in penetrating oil will likely help.
