Moderator - move this posting to where it belongs if I guessed incorrectly.

My DR 'All Terrain' mower has a Kawasaki 17 hp air cooled engine. When running, it's flawless. If it's been off for a day or so, it acts as though the fuel has left the carb as it takes forever to get it started. I've resorted to using ether to get it going. So, what's the problem?

My initial guess is that it is related to the fuel pump, one of those round plastic vacuum operated things that are on a lot of small engines. Am I correct?

As I stated before, once it's running, it's great.

Thanks
