What is the clearance supposed to be between cam gear and seating surface on cam for a K3E?
I had to r & r front cover and plate, but the cam gear won't go on to the point where it was when I pulled it.
Before I pulled the gear, the end of cam stuck out past gear by about .120". Now I can only get it to the point of where the end of the shaft is flush with the face of the gear.
I'm afraid that the cam will be displaced too far towards the rear of the engine and prematurely wear out the locating button and/or lifters.
Maybe flush is acceptable?
