Is it really cheaper? If you buy the K&N cleaner stuff and then their oil that goes on the filter to make it work, is it really any cheaper than a std paper replacement filter? I don't know as of today, but years ago it was not.

With that said, adding air to a diesel engine does not make more power without adding fuel.

As is true with many all-encompasing statements, this is not always true. It has been proven time and time again that adding a turbocharger to a mechanically injected diesel will increase HP without touching any injection pump settings.
