I recently entered the small farm world by purchasing 6 acres to house my two horses. The land is almost all pasture, flat, and fenced; located near Greenville SC. Though I was able to use a John Deere 19hp compact tractor with 60" cutting bed to get the pastures in initial shape, I need to get my own tractor.
I've done some basic research, but honestly am overwhelmed by the number of options, so I turn to a place like this to see if I can chop through the weeds to find what will work. My budget is tight (@5000$) so new is not really a possibility. Something like that John Deere I used would be good as most of my work will be cutting, raking,, and spreading. I looked at Yanmar, there is a dealer in Texas (RCO) that seems to have good prices on reconditioned tractors. I'd prefer buying local/regional, but am open to suggestions, offers, or options.
