Just ordered the 60\" Snowblower

Well I finally bit the bullet and ordered the 60" Snowblower from PT today. Hopefully it'll be here by Wednesday.
I can't wait to test it out in some snow! I'll be sure to post some pictures /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif ( I know how much TBN'ers like pics)

Re: Just ordered the 60\" Snowblower

Cool! I was tempted to purchase one but we don't get enough snow here anymore to justify it. Just lots of little snowfalls that usually melt before I can even plow them.

I would be happy to have ALL of our snow diverted to you all winter long!! pics, yes yes! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh, boy! That's great. I do hope you get enough snow to make you happy and to justify your investment. I'll be happy if I get to use my snowblade more than twice this Winter season. I know the "CFO" will also be happy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Just ordered the 60\" Snowblower

Thanks guys! I have a fairly large area to plow and I do a little snow removal on the side. Last year I used a 46" blower on my Craftsman garden tractor which worked good, although the traction was horrible. This year, the PT will be the ultimate snow removal machine! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: Just ordered the 60\" Snowblower

Well here she is! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif This thing is a monster. It came yesterday and I was just ready to test it out when Murphy's Law rears it's ugly head and I find out I have a bad PTO switch. Fortunately, I have a way to fix that problem. (run it off the draft control switch until Monday /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif) I have the caster wheel kit coming Monday and we are getting snow this week, so maybe some action shots! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Last one for today. The quality isn't that good since I just took them tonight in my shop.

P.S. I put the yellow 50 ft. sign on the blower.

Re: Just ordered the 60\" Snowblower

Very cool!

I like the sign. Now all you need is some sort of soft cab or plastic sheeting to attach in front of you to help keep the blow back from hitting you in the face. Of course with that unit, it looks powerful enough to throw it a long way, so it may not be a problem. Very nice indeed.... Like you, I used my Craftsman to plow snow. This year the PT is in the hanger waiting to take charge. Let it snow! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Highridge,

Would love to see some pictures in the daylight, and some action shots. Looking forward to your review of this attachment (power, speed etc)

Re: Just ordered the 60\" Snowblower

Highridge, hope you get to play with that blower. The way things are now we should all order pumps.

Re: Just ordered the 60\" Snowblower

Highridge,

Have you had a chance to use the blower. Give us a complete review. Wondering if you have sufficient PTO power, does it clog etc

Re: Just ordered the 60" Snowblower

So, you must of had a chance to use that blower by now. What do you think of it? What do you like and what do you dislike?

Re: Just ordered the 60" Snowblower

Hi there,
I've really only used the snowblower about 3 or 4 times. We haven't gotten much snow in the last two years (that's what happens why you buy a $3500 snowblower lol) The few times that I have used it, it seemed to work great in the soft powdery snow, but clogged once it got too wet. I ended up adding some skid shoes off a simplicty snowblower so it is easier to adjust the height. I also added some spacers for the caster wheels because they would hit the housing when backing up. I'm actually trying to sell my whole Power-Trac setup for an Allmand backhoe or the like, so we'll see if I still have the PowerTrac and snowblower for the snow this winter.
