Congratulations....

My situation was quite similar. Just purchasd a new property and got a 2320 to go along with it. I've only put 10 hours on mine so far (mostly bush hogging) and really enjoy it. It's a perfect size for my property.

Just to update you guys the dealership didn't have a 54" BB. The next size up was a 60". They said the tractor shouldn't have a problem with it, so I went ahead and ordered that one. It was only about $50 more.

I was told it will be here in about 2 weeks. I'll definitely post some pics when it comes.

Do any of you foresee any problems with the tractor handling the 60" BB?

Thanks

Tim

Congratulations. Hope they deliver it soon.

I wish that I'd gotten my 4010 when we were doing all the mods to this house when we first moved here. Bought a Gravely and a whole bunch of attachments for a good price, and it did its thing but was a WHOLE LOT more work to use than the 4010. Guess I was lucky that I waited because they were giving big discounts on the 4010 when I bought it. It was actually $300 less than a 2210. I tested both but am glad that I went with the machine with more ground clearance and without that plastic cooling fan underneath. Got near 180 hours on it now and did my own 50 hour service. On the 4010, you have to remove one rear wheel to get the lower 3 ph gear out of the way of the hydraulic filter. Hope they changed things on the 2320 to eliminate having to do this, but it actually wasn't too hard to do.

I've FEL, LX4, Mackissic shredder/chipper, 5' rear blade, carryall and a soil ripper that I modified to make raised rows with by putting 2 big disc hillers on the soil ripper bar.

Hope they fixed the under-seat switch on the 2320 to work with the seat up to use stuff like the shredder/chipper by just pulling the switch up. On the 4010 and 2210, they don't have this working. I jumpered a couple wires to make it work, but most times I just use a tension cord to hold the seat down.

And while the anedectodal evidence continues to pour in from Mars, most potential consumers have just two questions:

1) "In my part of the country the 4010 is much more than the 2210. Where can I go in VA to get this price reversal?"

2) "Ralph, on your advice (anyone with 1692 posts must be an expert!), I just purchased a 4010! Now that I have the beast, what can I do with 14 PTO hp? I just found out that my "Big Gulp" pushes the tractor over the edge and makes me have to use a sickle to clean up all those missed spots . . ."

And the saga continues . . .

Ralph, just leave the 2210 alone. Your 4010 is discontinued (set record sales for left-over inventory, and the 2210 is also discontinued (set record sales). Move on. The rest of us did.

I will be happy to spell it out for you - RalphVA has envy some would call it a complex of sorts. Every chance he gets he will compare and put down the 2210 and promote the few advantages the 4010 has over the 2210. Unfortunately there are only a few worth a darn. Both machines are good (great actually), the 2210 is better. The 2210 is so good that its replacement dosent quite replace it in all areas.....

Why would it be considered a fix when it was offered back with the 4100 series? or the 4110-4115? 2320 & 2520 replace all these

Not all machines when discontinued are discounted at the level the 4010 was a few years ago. The “big discount” you are referring to on the 4010 was made possible because that particular unit overall didn’t sell well and Deere doesn’t even have a model to represent that unit in the current line up. Conversely, when the 2210 was changed to the 2305 (essentially the same machine with very few modifications), and outgoing 2210 was only slightly discounted. In fact, I saw what I believe is to be one of the last 2210’s for sale (new machine at the dealership) and is listed for $13,500 (tractor loader and mower), same price as the 2305 and the dealer said he had no plans to lower the price.
