That looks a lot like an old craftsman i had. I scrapped mine instead of refurbishing it - no chain brake, heavy. But it did run and saw good most of the time.

Craftsman had them in grey and red. Some sold as 3.0 but really 3.4, then 3.4 and 3.7.

The best was the chrome bore 3700 and 4000.
Craftsman didnt have the high top 65cc one that I ever saw. Maybe I have forgotten if they did over the years but dont recall it now.

The red 3.7 came in both 3700 3800 saws.

I didnt care for this style of full wrap compared to ones used on 372 385 etc. So took it back off of my jonsered 670.

Can be used on some 2 series huskys if you trim the side and drill a hole.

Also has my redneck made bracket and longer fasteners needed. Plus I used a spike to make a strong inner brace deal for both fasteners to go through first to strengthen. 2 of the longer fasteners are like $11 alone.

SOLD

If someone can put it to use just message me or on the shelf it goes.

That full wrap sold right after I posted it in my FB group yesterday. 🍻

Cleaned up a painted the half wrap to put back on jonsered 670 champ. Just used a muffler paint I had on hand.

Just prefer this one in half wrap.

Always fun wheeling, dealing and trading saws, parts, bars, chains etc etc. All party’s happy. 😎✌️🍺
2016 OE 372xp mahle topend. 372 just getting ready to start 3rd tank.
2021 490 that been ported. Was told maybe 20 tanks so far.

Switched 372 back to how it was shipped. Pulled the high top stuff off. Took the big dawgs and full wrap off. Back to low top and small inner dawg with half wrap.

Put my afm muffler I did for other saw on it so he could have the big piped muffler he had on it back.

490 has spring assist start.

Ran a couple locals echo 4910 and sort of was wanting one to try out. Also was looking at echo 501.

Echo 490 has different piston and cylinder. P more like slab side 372. Quad port.
4910 501 p more like 440 piston style.

Reading 490 is a turd stock. But this one with just blind port work a local does seems to run pretty good.

But by Joe's dyno runs so does the 4910 501 stock leave lot on table to be fixed by porting.

I love my little 490, always starts, but could use a bit more grunt.
I am awful at tuning, wonder if my shop would tune if I did a muffler mod.
It's most likely out of warranty by now....
I guess add to my list of things to do.
No rush though as the 620P takes care of the big stuff easily.

My neighbor has a husky, have to see what it is and try it out. Only used Stihls and Echos (and some cheapo box store saws.) Did get to try an old fashioned Mac back in the day (late 70's vintage) when I was a kid, but with a 48" bar, it was way to much for a 15 year old to handle...

I pulled the cylinder etc off this one to clean it up some. Still some fine vertical scratching but no transfer was present.

I do not like their intake plastic slip fit clamp deal at all. I tried to use a 49cc-54cc poulan metal intake clamp but the echo intake was way to small for it.

Been testing 3/8LP 325 and full 3/8 on that echo 490 that was blind ported by local. He got it little rough on the base on a corner area, but the dirko for base seal got her running good. Base needs about another .020 off it for tighter squish.

my husky has been leaking oil when stored. So far the only position it has not leaked, is on it’s side as if i were filling up the gas. Is this normal?

Model? Some of them have updated oiler lines. I even tried dirko around some and it slowed them down.

Newer 440
I take care of a couple 440 local. Never seen one just leak out. Just normal dripping from running and shut off.

Try cracking taking off your oil cap after running before putting up.

IPL shows a simple oiler with single line. If issues after trying above get in there for a look. Oil Hose [544084202] for Power Tools | eReplacement Parts

Not a saw I would recommended myself.

Pics of the 2 I repaired last go around.

Thanks. I will try loosening the oil cap.

Those look abused. Mine is in good shape and works well.... just leaks when stored.

Not abused the 2nd one above is like new with very light use. The spring assist recoil is a weak link and known by anyone that works on them.

1st one was a guy that placed saw on the ground and wife backed over it. 🤦‍♂️

Order 2 OEM coils for a 22hp kaw twin that uses same coil on both cylinders. They cant even ship 2 of the same coil. 🤦

Least they got it half right I guess. :ROFLMAO:

Thank goodness most saws use 1 😇
Dads bought new saw 1994 that had been road hard. Replaced AV's, intake boot and lines. Cleaned up a bit years back.
