...and it even has an adjustable chain oiler. And metal chain-catcher. Nice.

Any idea as to DOM? I am guessing mid-to-late 90s. Maybe there are date stamps inside?

I have never seen a Tim Allen special first-hand. I suspect it is the same as the Poulan 3750 Timbermaster.

1998 on this one. Had 10-12 of these in in TA BB so far. Yep same as 3750 and 380 in different colors.

Think this was the 2nd one I got years back. I would run them both with a friend and we both prefred the 3750 over the 262. This 262 had the mahle cylinder.

Got these ready for last sat morning if able to get out. Icing pretty bad and dropped 26 degrees since morning. Was called for for a guy needing help with a big ash down.

Was canceled.

Update from yesterdays cutting in the frozen wood. Blowing winds, ice and snow covered big time. :D

Finally got the recall for the cutting. So I could test the 385 and 505 out.
Tree I started on 32" didnt reach across last 2 cuts. Pretty wood. Was told ash but I dont know about that. 2nd tree was ash.

I worked on 1st tree and after I finished mine up. Went and finished the other tree for the other guy that was cutting with 272 036. He said you cut little faster then I am used too. He was still on the small end. :p

385 stock impressed me with 32" full skip. 505 had 28" full comp and it to impressed me being on its first tanks since topend rebuild.

I came to the conclusion I will be able to sell the 385 in the future soon. 505 does all I need done.

I'll pass on all huskys;)

But those sure are some impressive rounds.

Red oak?

Impressive list of Dolmars, I have one I really like, the PS540 and a black and silver 112, not so impressed good saw, but heavier than I like to use for long. The 346XP is my go to saw, little screamer.

Yea, the 112 is a turd. Good parallel to a stihl 029/290.....overweight and underpowered

Even though it wasnt a 346 I didnt care. Even has the updated oem metal clamp already.

Ran these 3 today with 28" buried in ash. Didnt know the guys kid was videoing it till switching saws.

505 just starting 2nd tank after rebuild.

505 385 ran same chain LGX like new with rakers lowered tad more then off the reel.

064 off the reel new LGX.

52mm 40mm 064 - 54mm 37mm 385 - 54mm 36mm 505

Guys son shooting the video didnt come back out when we ran the 385 after b+c change over. He was to busy having fun with the playing boccerball against his sister.

Just to share. Sort of pisses me off one of the local dealers treated him like this. aka took advantage of IMHO.

Took his 3120 to dealer. Told him pulling 130psi so put a new topend on it. Bet was just needing reringed.

Coil wire had been chaffed cut and told him needed new coil. So they put a coil in it. Dont these the plug wire screws out to replace.

New carb installed too instead of rebuild.

Then to beat all they put the wrong coil and he couldnt pull it over to get started. He sent it to Rich Dougan to fix it. Said ran 3 months and back to original issue.

I got saw today and fixed in little over hour. SMH Was Sunday

I have this POS wild thing. POULAN ! It will run great then run like crap. It's hard to take it to the woods not knowing how it's going to run on that day.

I usually just throw the old rancher 55 (about 15 yrs old) in the mule and head to the woods. Bad thing is, I wish they had installed a decompression button on this 55 rancher. The compression on that thing is a killer. I can pull my 372 easier than this 55.

Funny, my son and I were in the woods last week with the 55. I had him use the saw. When he went to pull the start rope, he said, dad, something is hung up inside.. I laughed and told him it ain't a sissy saw. It has high compression . you have to pull hard and quick to start it

What did that Johnny Cash song say? Kicked like a mule and bit like a crocodile?

Is that your 55 ? Good saw :D

hahahaha.. yes that 55 kicks very hard. I have been told new 55 saws aren't very good (built cheap) but if mine is that old, it was one of the good ones

I have both those saws, plus the 455 Rancher, which replaced the 55. The 455 has a CR valve, which is
a huge benefit. Did you know that your 55 has a place for a CR valve? It is in the side of the cylinder,
and you need to tap it out and drill a small hole. The valve only costs $5. I just replaced the cyl on my
55, and I got the one with a CR valve already tapped into it. A big improvement.
