All help Appreciated: while using my 790 the battery holder came loose causeing the battery to move and dislodging a battery cable. the tractor immediately stopped. and after determining what was wrong proceeded to reconnect the cable and fasten down the battery. when attempting to start the tractor in will turn over, but will not start. the engine is a yanmar diesel. Also I noticed when trying to start the tractor it has no smoke coming out the exhaust. any suggetions please.

Which battery cable came loose? If the battery was jumping around, it may have shorted against some metal. I would definately start by checking your fuses.

Disconnect both the ground and power cables from the battery, clean the battery posts.
While it's disconnected, follow the cables to the starter and the main ground...just to check.
And, as dconine wrote, check the fuses.

My first guess is the cable you connected isn't tight enough and although the starter is turning, it's not turning fast enough.

thanks guys. I kinda thought it might be a fuse, but it started to rain,and I did not have a chance to completely check it out. so I put a tarp over it and pulled the key. raining again today so I will just have to wait to get back to it.
