Where is the factory spot to put a block heater in this engine? Pictures would help if you have any.

Knowing what engine would probably help too. ;)

I’m sorry. The engine is a [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]. It’s not on a tractor. It’s connected to GEHL mixer.

Might help to post the tractor model. (y)

It’s a [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] John Deere diesel engine and it’s hooked up to a GEHL mixer.

No answer here, I'm sure someone else will know. I just wanted to say I'm impressed with your commitment to getting the information out there!

4039=4 cylinder engine manufactured in Dubuque, Mannheim or Saran factory. One should be able to remove a hex plug on LH(drivers side) & install a block heater part #DZ102076 similar to photo below.

Might be a matter of finding the right pipe plug to get an external water heater plumbed in to circulate cooling fluid.

Here is a schematic that shows such a plug (key #28) in the block linked to the JD parts site.

Another thought is to maybe contact this fellow who put a video up on his rebuild of a 4039 engine.

Or
4039 series engine & 3043 tractors do not share the same engine family but from viewing the last photo you posted the engine coolant heaters are located in similar locations. Model 3043D utilizes 1.6L Yanmar engine
