Does anyone know if a rebuild kit is available for a John Deere Sabre with a B&S 15 hp engine, model # 28N707, type 0635 A1, code 9510254B. Thanks for any help.

I have a 2002 J.D SABRE riding tractor with a 14.5 hp briggs...approx 375 hrs on meter...I removed the mower deck with intentions of replacing...42" cut...was bent..Anyway-we drive the kids around on it and drag a small pull cart behind it ocassionally...has 5 forward and reverse gear...electric start...

Taking up space in the garage...FOR SALE...if interested...

What's wrong with the engine? Why do you think you need a Kit? I have one of those engines on a Dixon mower and I blew a head gasket once and it smoked so bad I thought it had blew up, it had tremendous blow by. I had the head gasket replaced and runs great now. These engines have a compression release that require the valves to be adjusted frequently or the motor won't turn over and you'll burn out the starter tryin' to start it, Don't ask how I know this. expensive engine maintenance lesson. bjr

I own a 1646 and buy parts all the time from local company and on internet (Hyperparts.com)
my mower was purchashed 1999...hope this helps

I have a 15 hp Sabre engine model 28n707, type 0635 A1, Code 9603224A. Is it interchangeable to a 14.5 hp Model 287707, type 1274 E1, code 98091220. Need to know is the mounting bolt holes are compatable.
