I also have a posi on a 4300JD Hydro that won't engage most of the time. I found that my helpers had been trying to engage it while one wheel was spinning, letting it rachet until it locked. Sometimes the snow buildup under the pedal would also stop it from going all the way into lock. Is there any thing that it could be that is external from the rear end? I haven't seen any filings in the hydro fluid but I think that the filters would grab them anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
