john deere LT166
HI I have a John Deere LT166 lawn mower and I can't get the deck to level out.The left side is 1/2 in higher than the right and the front is 1/2 in higher than the back and from what I have read the front is to be 1/2 in lower than the back.I like to cut the grass at 3 in and some of the deck wheel are touching the ground. This tractor worked great last year but last winter I took the deck off to store it in a garden shed and I put a new belt on this spring,It runs great, but leaves a trail of grass clippings(wet part of lawn) but just can't get it level. Thanks for any help Brian

Check your hangers, did you reverse them between left and right? Are they worn? Pics would help

Basics
Correct air pressure in tires.
Raise deck wheels to highest setting.
Set mow height at something like 2"
On flat surface, measure tips right and left side and set to the 2" mow height and change using the hangar R/L turnbuckles.
(a 2" block of wood works good for this)
Next check the tip of center blade for forward tip to be 1/4" lower than rear tip by adjusting the front bail.
Last, set deck height to desired mowing, and lower deck wheels so they have 1/4 - 1/2" clearance from flat surface.
Should be good to go.
