Keeping up "maintenance" can extend the machines life, but it would be helpful to have the experience of others. I understand the gas, oil, and filter change well enough because it's something that's always been there in my daily chores to do. This new lawn tractor, however, has an unusual exhaust design It seems to discharge out to the front in the direction of travel and when traveling on a dirt surface the dust is disturbed. Well you see where this is going. On my tractor I've noticed the pre-filter and air filter FILLS UP very quickly. For me this is problem since I'm well aware of it needing attention. Has anyone else had this problem?

Welcome to the forum Richard.
Might wan't to see if you can add something to deflect the exhaust upwards a little. In fine dusty environments such as you describe I often clean air filters every 4 to 8 hours of use regardless of size and model.
