The operator manual is a little confusing. The first page pictures clarify one is 870 and the other is 970, but the next page pictures with the dip stick do not.

This plug (7 or 20). looks alot like a dipstick.;)

This diagram is interesting. Those plugs look to be pretty well hidden to me.??

The dipstick on my 770 is on the right side of the axle, right up on top, an arms reach over the right front tire.

However, on the 770 there are drain "vents" that you need to remove the tires to get to in order to change the axle oil, the thick, gooey type. Heavy.

The manual I have does show the same picture as kjung showed. I did not look at it very good. My bad.
