Are you referring to the split pin that attaches the lever #1 to the eccentric lobe #4?

Yes, but it is not a split pin it is a solid steel pin.

Well it is hard to drive this out if it is suspended in the air I am sure. If you can use a cutoff tool to remove the part sticking out will this allow you to remove the part and then put it in a vise to clean up?

I am guessing this is what you meant when you said the lever would move towards the wheel? I was thinking more of bending than the rod sliding in and out.

Seems like an unusual place to use a solid pin to me. What is supposed to hold the pin in place? Other than being pressed in.

It looks like to me the only way to get it out is to remove the lever (1) but my manual or service manual doesn't show how the to remove it.

Is there room to get a punch or something in to the piece marked #4 so that you can drive the lever and stub shaft outwards? This is assuming the pin is sheared and friction is the only thing holding #4 onto the stub. I looked up that #4 part and with the pin and oring is about $80 bucks try not to damage this.

My tractor is at the ranch so it isn't here to view, IIRC correctly the pto lever is welded to this shaft with a an outside bead. If nothing else works you should be able to grind this off and push the shaft inwards. That would be a last resort though.

Have you tried tapping the parts to free them up? Any idea what made this pin shear?

if im rembering right on the left side of the seat you have (or my 820 has) 2 levers the small flat steel pto engage/disengage arm maybe 6" long. then a longer thick arm with a t kinda head on the top id say 12" or so tall. this tall handle will move outward towards the wheel... and if you look it also has a flat petal you can press with the heal of your boot. this is the rear end lock up/unlock controler. you start spining 1 wheel and press the peda; down with your heal and it will lock up the rearaxels so both spin together. then to unlock it you move that tall handle from wheel to wheel (left-right) and it will pop the pedal you had depressed with your heal back up a inch or 2. mine is eazy to unlock when i have cleaned the grass clippings and stuff out of the tractor really good but after a few hours of working in the tall grass its a bit stiff and i have to wiggle the arm a bit to unlock the rear end.

You are referring to the differential lock, mine releases on its own when touching a left or right brake. I rarely use it for more than a few moments at a time. 99.9% of the time it is disengaged.

yep thats right and when my 820 is clean it will unlock with a brake or when you step off the locks heal plate. But when i start my annuel mowing the grass is 2-3 ft high and the tops are covered in this floating fuzzy cotton crap that almost acts/looks like a dandylion fuzzy top kids blow on. and that stuff gets everywhere. I clean off the side grills about every hour and the airfilter housing every time i get ready to start the deere. and the hole in the frame just infront of the radiator just sucks all that fuzzy stuff up into the rad. that inturn starts to heat up the deere. so i have to scoop out all that stuff and then blow air from the back to the front of the rad to blow out all the fuzzys. and the fuzzys pile up on the foot floor boards and inturn make all the controls a bit less free moving. if i had running water out there it would be just a fast bath from the hose but i end up having to get a 5 gal bucket and go down to the creek or lake and then flood the poor thing with water. but its just a part of the way that whole job goes.
