My jd 5420 has no power at fuse controlling key switch circuit

Not much to go on, what have you checked so far. Battery voltage, battery ground to frame, fuseable link and all the other fuses? Did anything occur the last time you used the tractor?

Fusible link is good battery has voltage other fuses have power except key switch circuit and fuel solenoid fuse
I provided the URL to the operators manual, which fuse box is the one for your tractor? It looks like the key switch (30amp) and the fuel solenoid (20 amp) are on 2 different fuses.
I own a 5210, depending on the model of your 5420, the wiring is the same. I have attached a picture of the starting system for 5X10 models, does it look like it matches your tractor. Hope this help trace things from the fuse link to the key switch.

I don't have that problem but I have a 2002 JD 5420 that blows oil out the exaust pipe at times. It seems to do it in cold weather . I live in Alabama so weather is not to bad. I bushed hogged about 75 acres during the past summer with no problem . started feeding hay this winter and after the first real cold snap it started again. The tractor has 720 hours on it. I bought it from a friends estate auction with only 200 hours on it. It had set up for a while in shed due his sickness.
Just wonder if anybody has had this problem? It does not have a turbo on it.

There is a vent tube on the left side of the engine that allows pressure and blow-by to escape. Mine is a 5520 but I have cleaned this tubing before. Maybe it's plugged up?
