John Deere 540 Loader Sealant

I have a question. I just had the lift cylinders rebuilt on a John Deere 5400 and want to know if I need to use sealant on the hoses to reinstall them.

Pipe thread yes, moreso that you can get it apart in future. If it has O ring boss or JIC, NO sealant is needed. Dude has to be old for pipe threads.
