My 5310 has power reverser which has developed a problem when going into reverse.
When moved into the reverse position there is a 'mushy' feel as opposed to a solid clunk, and most often it will jump out of gear unless I hold the lever down.
I notice there is an adjustment at the bottom end of the cable where it connects the lever cable to the gearbox.
Does anyone know if this will solve the problem if I lengthen the cable, if so, how far should I adjust it?

I have identified the problem, it is a jammed up cable.
I have now removed the cable and I am spraying WD40 into the small gap between cable core and casing, hoping that will dissolve whatever is causing the jamming.
Will let you know when done.
