Does a John Deere 455 have a guard on the mid pto? The reason I ask is when I started to mow the other day I pulled the pto switch and nothing happened. I got off the tractor to discover that the part of the shaft going from the mower to the pto was off and messed up and there was also another piece that I couldn't figure out where it went. I took the piece by my local jd dealer and they couldn't find it. When I got home I put it over the mid pto and it seems that is where it goes. Does anyone know and can I run it without it?
