John Deere 4520/Cab

Ham,
I find the $47,200 to be an astonishing price to ask for a 4720 tractor, if I were told anything like that when buying my 4520 last year I wouldn't have one. That is a sucker price quote.

Steve,

If you go to their online configurator that is pretty much what you get. So what do you think the price should be?

I agree, $47,200 is probably too high. The way I understand it from my dealer, they can reduce the price of the tractor, but they don't have room to reduce the cost of the options which in my case are dealer installed.

For reference, for the 4720 cab I just ordered I am paying $43,700 with the following options:
R4 tires
400CX loader
H/D bucket
Bucket tooth bar
Bucket cutting edge
I-Match
3rd SCV
Electric Diverter kit
Top and Tilt
Rear fender extensions
Cab speaker and radio mount
External mirrors
Wheel weight hardware
Wheel weights (4ea. 110#)
Cruise switch
The dealer is installing all of the options with no substantial price breaks. They are not charging labor though.

That is an astounding price since the Deere dealer in Billings quoted a cabbed4720 with 400CX mirrors, air cushion seat(standard), rear wiper, rear lights, ehydro with ePTO, R4 tires, and NO rear SCV for 47,200$. When I configure on the online site that is pretty close. So I keep wondering where these phenomenal prices and claims of 20% off etc are coming from. I have really pushed the Bozeman and Billings dealers about these and they are stumped. They are adamant that Deere doesn't allow huge discounts across the US to keep prices consistent. They did get a fraud alert from John Deere about pseudo dealers in the Midwest advertising and selling such but never delivering.

Thanks

I think your dealer must have a "direct affiliation" with the one in Alaska!! Best I ever got from those guys was 7% below the MSRP on the Deere website.

Needless, to say; I didn't "buy" from them...

Sometimes it "pays" to illustrate the "power of the marketplace" to highball dealerships and buy a Kubota or hitch up your trailer and spend a few hours on the road..

I bought my prior JD 3720 at 18% off list and current 4520 at 16% off list-from 2 different dealers. This included all options installed by dealer at the the same % discount as the tractor. Ordered options for both tractors included rear lights, side mirrors, radio, horn, rear SVC, electric diverter with 2 rear SVC, weights, tool box, skid steer carrier, FEL, block heater, and upgraded cruise. Your dealer is claiming he can't discount options? Both my dealers discounted and installed for free.

Well I only have one dealer I deal with. I'm just passing along what he told me. Even though I have bought tractors and equipment from him before, maybe he is misleading me. Regardless, I'm purchasing a machine for $43,700 that on JD's website lists for $51,300. I am satisfied with getting a 15% discount.

Perhaps you can help the gentleman who was quoted $47.2k for the tractor he wants get a 16-18% discount?

If the online configurator total was 47,200. I would expect to pay close to $38,700 +tax. Definately would walk if quoted over $40,000+tax.

I've been thinking of buying a John Deere 4520, the dealer tells me i can't use a front mounted snow blower. Anyone know if this is correct?

They might be right. I checked on the JD site and it only shows a rear snow blower. I think the 3x20 cab supports one.

Hard to believe no front mounted snow blower.

You can use the fel mounted blower with rear powerpack by Frontier.
