John Deere 4300 SyncReverser issue

i have a 4300 with a SyncReverser transmission. It moves forward and reverse just fine. The issue is while having the forward/reverse lever is in neutral position. The machine drifts rearward. Has anybody had this happen to them? What was the problem? How did you fix it?

I bought the tractor from a friend after his brother-in-law passed away. His brother
-in-law used it for mowing. It had 350 hours on it when I bought it. I noticed the drifting at the time and assumed it just needed adjustment. Now I've got 400 hours on it and decided to adjust the clutch. I purchased the technical manual and followed the recommend steps and it still moves rearward. Ive been surfing the forum for sometime now and have only found 1 post with the same issue and nobody
responded.

It's possible reverse synchronizer's are binding a little. Are you positive linkage is shifting reverser to neutral position?

Thanks for your reply Jim. I wanted to make sure it was in fact in the neutral position, so I disconnected the forward/reverse linkage at the point circled in red. I am able to feel each detent and confident thats its in "neutral".

I once owned a Kubota M4900 with sycnc shuttle that I utilized mostly to handle rd bales that became locked in reverse. I had to split tractor & R&R shuttle assembly.
