With rotiller on; & ingaged the blades stop turning as soon as they are lowered in to earth.Hydraulics are all working. Any help appreciated. Lorne

Is this the hydraulic driven roto-tiller? If yes have you tried running the tiller in both directions? Reason for asking is that there could be a run down option or anti reverse option on those tillers preventing operation in one direction.

If PTO belt drive then I would start looking for loose belt, slipping clutch etc.

Thank you for the reply.The roto-tiller is hydraulic driven. I will have to find out about the condition's you mentioned. As the unit was used mainly with the roto-tiller; I was thinking clutch slipage ; want to check options before getting to deep.

I doubt there is a slip clutch on the tiller since it is hydraulic drive.

I presume this has the pump driven by the electric PTO clutch. First thing I would check is the belt driving the pump to make sure it is not slipping
