I have a john deere 350 9' sickle mower and I put a new belt on it. The is loose and I need to know how to ajust it. Also the spring that levels the blade when the blade is down it will not lay flat on the graund the end is up about 4" how can this be ajusted down ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You should be able to adjust the float of the blade and get it to lay down flatter by adding links in the chain that runs thru the middle of the cutterbar spring. Lift-raise the cutterbar up to take the tension off the spring and then add links.

Did you have to move the pulley to get the old belt off?

There is a bolt for adjusting belt tension. It is located at the left and low. A owners manual would be a good investment. Ken Sweet
