So you have never had an problem with it being under powered?? I like the 3320 it's just that if I buy used they are all about the same price. And if anyone knows of a nice used one that's for sale with a 300 cx loader and belly mower please let me know..

As I have been looking at used tractors I have been noticing that whenever there is a tractor with loader and mid mount mower the price is at least 3000 higher then with just loader or just mower.. Y is that??

The 3320 is not underpowered by any means. It has plenty of power. Under the most strenuous of situations though, very rare, the 3320 will run out of power slightly before the 3520 and 3720, which will run out at about the same time because after over the HP of the 3520 you don't see any more power in times under load as you will run out of traction before the more HP of the 3720 will take place. The 3320 is plenty of power though and you will not be displeased by any means:thumbsup:

What tires do you guys think would be best for me with doing mowing in summer and snow moving in winter?? Do the industrial tires tear up the grass to bad on that size rig??

Thanks so much for your input guys. In that case I'll be looking at 3320 also :) :)

i just ordered this morning a new 3520 cab tractor for mowing 8 acres with a 72 inch mid mount mower. i will eventually get a loader. i intially was set on the 3320 but did a bunch of research past couple of months and read a few reviews stating that the 3320 struggled a little bit with that size mower in heavy grass with the air conditioner running. I read that the 3520 with turbo had no problem. So i said, what the **** is another 1000 bucks to step up and not worry about it and be able to run more attachments more efficiently so stepped up to 3520. I could not justify stepping up to 3720 becuase i feel 3520 is enough

The R4 industrial seem to be the best for traction and on a lawn. Don't do much damage to the lawn but still give good traction. R1 ags tear up the lawn but don't ate best for traction, R3 turf don't tear up the lawn but don't give as good of traction. The R4s are a happy medium.

There seems to be a lot of controversy about the traction of R-4 versus R-3 turfs. A number of TBNers claim to have better traction (in the snow) with turfs.
I've had both and would lean toward the R-4s (I like them because they're wider), but they do clog up pretty quickly in the snow. I have turfs now since that's what came with the tractor.I use tire chains on the rear tires during the winter.

So, I suggest the OP, Trenton Wollman, do more research on tire types, chains and all that. There are a lot of threads on this subject, so use the search function. Also, I think there is a tire comparison thread in the snow removal forum currently (as of 2012-01-14)

As far as which 3x20 tractor to buy...in my circumstances, I'd go with the 3320 with the reverser transmission. They're all good...really depends on how much money Trenton wants to spend.

All the 3x20 (3000) series John Deere tractors have the same frame size, the only difference is power, hydraulics, etc. So if a 3320 would work a 3720 would be a 3320 with more power but no difference in physical size, if that makes sense, they have the same footprint..

Actually the hydraulics are the same. All 3 have 5.3 gpm for steering and 8.6 gpm for implements, weigh in at 2,900lbs each. Power is the only difference. If you are at much of any elevation, (above 4k feet) I would forget about the 3320, and only be considering the 3520 or 3720.

Just my :2cents:
