John Deere 110tlb tachometer

Hi all:

New member and new to my recently purchased 2005 110tlb. Happy with the machine, and functions well, but the tachometer is dead. All other gauges, hour meter and instrument lights work fine. Would like to troubleshoot the tachometer circuit and try to fix it. I have an operators manual and parts manual but no tech manual. Does anybody have an electrical schematic they would be willing to send my way?

Where are you located at?

I had some septic work done last year and he used a JD 110 TLB.

Well hopefully you got some quality work. I'm sure you got a finer end product than if I did the work as this 110 (and backhoe/loader operation as well) is new to me. But thoroughly enjoying myself and trying not to hurt me or the machine too bad.

Does the generator have a W connection for tach signal?

I haven't looked at the generator connection-think this is the alternator connection in the US that you are referring to? Can you help me understand what you mean by a W connection please? What is odd is the tech manual says that if the tachometer does not work the hour meter will not work but in fact the hour meter works fine.

W is used on Bosch and others but its quite common to use a signal form the generator to give signal to the tach, but you are sure its electronic?

OK, believe I understand now. Yes, electronic with signal from what we call the alternator, green third wire to instrument panel.
