Johm Deere E-Hydro Transmission

I have a 2003 JD 4410 with e-Hydro transmission. I first notices a delay in response when pressing the forward or reverse pedal. Later the transmission would stall when under power (both forward and reverse) then pick up and stall again. The engine runs normally. It seems like the is starved for fluid then recovers.

I drained the fluid, replaced all the filters and removed and cleaned the suction screen. I did find some fine metal shavings in the suction screen. This seemed to help somewhat but did not cure the problem of starting and stalling.

Another Problem - PTO inoperable

Previous to the transmission problem. While using a 5 ft shredder I managed to hit a large rock. The shredder has a clutch and shear-pins. Regardless this dammaged the PTO whish no longer works.

Are there internal shear devices in the transmission for the PTO and could the problems be connected?

I would like to have as much information about the problem before I take the tractor to a dealer or repair facility. I would appreciate any advise.

How many hours on the tractor?

I would suspect that maybe your hydraulic pump is starting to go or you pressure releif is not right. The low pressure pump feeds oil to the HST.

If you have the service manual, it describes how to test the pressures on the HST. You need to buy the quick connects for JD and a long hose and pressure gauge to do it. My 2004 4410 wasn't cutting out, but the pressure releif valve was set wrong and the HST was not getting enough oil, so the tractor was driving slow.

It sounds like the e-hydro controller is reducing transmission power. Check your Throttle Position Sensor, and speed sensor and wiring.
