3-Point Hitch JD450 tiller compatible with a JD2520 Series Tractor

Hey there - Need some advice & knowledge....I am looking for a 3 pt tiller and came across one (JD450) however it's a Catagory 0 3 pt. hitch & I was wondering whether this is compatible with my JD 2520 which has a Catagory 1 3 pt. hitch system?

Any help on this appreciated greatly. thks.

What is the maximum pto Hp considered for the 450? Category 0 - your 2520 might have more "twist" back there than the 450 would stand up to for any length of use.

That said, I know that most tractor supply places or dealers will have adaptor bushings and pins that you can use to replace your CAT I pins.

I think it will work just fine after you adapt it to the CAT1 3PH. I believe it's the same as the 550 Tiller which is already setup for CAT1.

The 450 is not the same as a 550 tiller... not in the same league at all. The 550 is about 200 lbs heavier.

'Course it may still be OK - there's only a 3-4hp difference at the pto between the 2520 and the 455 diesel. So, you could most likely retrofit the pins up to CAT I and "turn that dirt"!

The 450 is not the same as a 550 tiller... not in the same league at all. The 550 is about 200 lbs heavier.

'Course it may still be OK - there's only a 3-4hp difference at the pto between the 2520 and the 455 diesel. So, you could most likely retrofit the pins up to CAT I and "turn that dirt"!
