hello,
I have a question on my jd4300, my voltage regulator went out on me a few weeks ago. I had the alternator rebuilt. Now my problem is that my tach and hour meter are no longer working. could the voltage regulator have taken the hour meter and tach out?

thanks for the help.

catus,

checcked the fuse's as well conductivity from connector at the alternator to the instrument panel.
I think once I get the hay is off the ground I will bring the alternator
to a repair shop Non John deere as the ones out here don't
have the ability to test on site.

thanks for the help

hello all,
I wanted to follow up on this thread, Well everything is working fine now. Once I had the hay up, I had some time to work on this problem. I contacted that John Deere dealership that worked on my alternator. I was able to talk to the gentleman that rebuilt my alternator And after a couple of questions he told me that he normaly does not test the tach or the hour meter that is supplied
from the alternator. so for FREE of charge they retested and replaced the defective part (from the factory, they admited that they had a problem with the manufacturer)

sorry for the poor spelling.
