JD314 needs updating?

I have a 314 the runs fine but I would like to get more power out of it. I was thinking I could possibly go with a larger engine since the running gear is same as those with more HP. I am looking for suggestions, I have priced a good rebuild and I am wondering if there are performance parts for the Kohler. I am thinking it would be better to swap motor for something with hp standard. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You can try looking at www.weekendfreedommachines.org for ideas and advice. It's a site devoted to JD L&G tractors. I've found it helpful for my '76 JD 400. Still runnig strong.
