Hi Everyone,
I am a new member & first time post.
Today I was trying to shift from low to park
to unhook my bush hog when my shift stick
pulled completely out of the socket. The tractor
is now locked in low gearing, also 4 rings attached
to the rod came out with it which two apeared to be
slightly bent. I replaced the rod and tried to shift but
the trans is locked in low. How can I reinsert and align ?
Thanks for the help.
Paul

To all who may experience this problem,
I went to my local JD Dealer in Burkeville, VA.
for a bushing, snap ring kit which is what broke.
The kit diagram explained the order but I first
had to line up the proper gear. The trans was in
low gear so the shifter handle must face right forward
which allows the rod to slide in easily. One bushing,
two shims and the snap ring installed all was well.
I cranked up the JD and away I went.
Today I replace an old brake line which cracked while
bush hoging the edge of my field.
