I just started tearing into it again. It looked like the top motor mount was welded to the engine. What I just figured out is it’s a plate that runs the length of the engine. Has two motor mounts welded to the plate. About 7 bolts. Won’t be easy but there is a way. Whew. Thanks MTGreen. You were 100% correct on all.

Starter replaced.
Thought I would let anyone know that has to change the starter on the 2305 some info.
The top plate for motor mount has to come off to get the starter off. I removed the 7 bolts the hard way from underneath. What I now realize, and the easy way…. Nuts off motor mounts. Jack up motor from underneath. Allows access to all 7 bolts on mount from the side. Took less than 20 mins to put starter on and reassemble everything. Jacking up motor is key.
Next, JD wanted over $900 for the starter. Ordered off DB Electric for $116. ($124 with shipping).
I Truely believe it turns over faster than the original. My baby is back to good.

I hope not - on the flooding. But next hurricane or tropical depression it will surely be in my garage high and dry.
As for the starter, I’m still miffed that someone hasn’t posted how to get the starter off. Probably why I went a little overboard taking about it. Want the next guy to see these post and have an ah ha moment. Truly nothing on it in the search engines other than remove exhaust pipe, remove two cap screws. Remove starter. I had about 15 bolts and 10 nuts.
