John Deere 2305
New to this forum. Any help and input will be much appreciated.
I just purchased a JD2305 that has about 370 hrs.. It came with a loader, backhoe, belly mower and JD snow blower.
The loader and backhoe worked great until the loader was removed and the blower attached. Once the blower was removed and the loader reattached, the loader control stick now operates in reverse of how it should; right and left now lowers and raises the loader and the forward and aft movement dumps and curls the bucket. I think the hoses were reattached correctly.
The owners manual does not go into much detail about this subject.
Has anyone experienced a situation like this one?

Thanks, Kenny
I’ll give it a shot.

Once you get the hoses connected correctly ('cause that's your problem) put matching colored ty wraps around each line and coupling so next time they are disconnected, you know how they go back. And, with the hydraulic implement safely on the ground and the engine stopped, move the control full motion all directions to relieve pressure in the lines so they can be reconnected with less resistance in the couplings.

I removed all of the bulky color coded storage caps off of my loader hoses and replaced with colored zip ties. In 2000 hours I have never removed the loader on my last 2 tractors though.

When I bought the machine there were color-coded caps and plugs dangling from the manifold but I didn’t do a close inspection; they were just randomly installed. Once removed it was just a bowl of spaghetti, just a lot of guessing to where they belonged.

I probably never should have removed this one. But removing and reinstallation was easy…just the hydraulic debacle.

I have color coded caps/plugs for my loader but I just used colored electrical tape to mark my snow plow hoses because I had that and all my zip ties are black. No matter how you mark them it saves time. :)

If you are like me and use the tractor to mow or plow snow, or use it with rear implements in a tight area, you will be taking the loader off quite a lot. I probably have mine off and on 40 or 50 times a year. If you do take it on and off, learn how to replace the O-rings in the hydraulic ports. It's cheap and easy and you will eventually need to do that.

This is definitely a learning process…thank you

I went a different route and put one male and one female on the tractor. Also used different sizes of QD for lift lower vs curl, dump. I then plug hoses together to keep ends clean when attachments are not on the tractor.

Thanks, oldnslo…great suggestion. I might eventually take that route.

I want to thank you all for you help. As Kenny suggested, putting the two hoses that were on the top couplers on to the bottom couplers solved the problem. She works perfectly! It looks like the prior owner just attached some colored caps and plugs in a random way without any regard for a logical assembly and disassembly.
Now it’s off to Harbor Freight to get some colored wire ties.

Just to add to the conversation. If you don’t have caps on & mow, dirt will fill up on the female quick disconnects. They’re expensive to buy but worth it. Beats spraying them clean to get male end of coupler to go back in.
Never release pressure with joy stick with bucket on during storage. It will cause quick disconnects to leak.
Always cycle joystick thru all possible positions ( Eng off ) before disconnecting quick disconnect to take loader off.
Love my 2305, but had to learn these things the hard way.

Welcome to TBN! I did just that when I first took my loader on/off. Colored zip ties work great. Changing fittings would be a pretty expensive "fix".

Most welcome. I have had my 2305 since new 2010. It has 900 hours on it. I work it hard but am over excessive with the maintenance. I have had only three main issues. Once it died while mowing. Figured out it would stay running if I held the key on. Blown fuse in Eng compartment ( white cover ). I had added trailer lights. Wire got pinched. My starter went bad from half of tractor under water ( hurricane). And the stupid design to grease the driveshaft spider gears. I changed universal joints to grease zerk on cap. Tons of info on this. Do your research on it. Poor design and if goes bad, $1000. Also will mention if running PTO and it’s older than 2009. Use slip clutch or tranny will give out. 10 k.
