JD Seat repair??

Smart guy that I am, jumped in the seat of my JD 870 with a screwdriver in my pocket. So I now have a nice ripped vinyl seat. The JD dealer's only fix is a new seat! Anybody got experience with those vinyl repair kits? Other ideas? JD makes a slipon cover for lawn tractors but not the compacts. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You may want to check with Coleman's surplus. Several years back, they had the replacement seat cushions for some JD and Kubota models. This was just the foam backed vinyl portion that you put on your existing seat pan. I put one of the Kubota covers on my uncle's B8200 before he traded it in. It wasn't an exact match but it did have the OEM look since "Kubota" was pressed into the vinyl. The link is Coleman's Surplus
