JD LT155
Hello All, I am new to this site, and by necessity I found you. It looks like a great site for information and some comradery.

I have recently acquired a John Deere LT 155. It did not start when I got it, I purchased a used 15 hp Kohler command but it was off a craftsman mower. So the wiring harness and fuel pump not like for like. Never the less, I mounted the used engine along with the craftsman muffler, and rigged a gravity feed fuel supply. The engine seems to run pretty good, after some tweaks, and adjustments.

So, now the drive does not engage, no forward, no reverse. The cutting deck engages fine.

My FIRST question, is there an electrical lockout on the drive mechanism? If so, that would be a relief, as I do not have all the wiring switched from the craftsman engine to the JD chassis.
Can anyone give me some advice on where to start troubleshooting the NO Drive problem? Thank you in advance, as I have seen the type of technical answers as I searched the site.

I will also need some advice on switching Or matching the two wiring harnesses but first I want to repair the drive problem.
I am excited to get this tractor in the field, and put it to work.

Have you looked at the parts pages?
John Deere - Parts Catalog
Search for the LT155.
Go to the sectional index and find the power train, then maybe the belt drive and idlers.
Does it have oil in the transaxle? Is the belt drive turning the transmission?
I am not familiar with your exact mower but so far as I know there are no electrical interlocks.
Maybe someone else will know for sure.
Otherwise I suspect a linkage problem underneath unless the transmission is totally stripped inside somehow?
That would be highly unusual imo.

With the sheet metal off and the mower jacked up you can fool with linkages to see what's happening.

Can you roll the wheels easily are they hard to turn?
Some mowers have a release so you can push it around.

You may need to find a technical manual online to purchase.

the LT155 has a free wheel lever in the back, should be a black knob, be sure it's all the way in for the tranny to pull. If the engine was bad, they may have pulled it to push it around
