Hi I have a GT225 with a 15 HP Kohler, with a lot of hours on it. Yesterday the charging light came on very bright. I checked and I was getting 19.5 volts at the battery,and needless to say it cooked the battery. I figured the regulator must have failed, so I picked up a new regulator and the Discharge cap (Looks like a red M80). I put those in and still have 19.5 volts to the battery. I unplugged the regulator and measure across the two white wire with engine running and I get 49 volts AC off the stator. According to the Kohler manual the regulator must be bad. Any other ideas? Any help would be appreciated!
