I was on the JD site and I noticed they had two styles of iMatch Compatible Ballast/Weight Boxes.

* iMatch Compatible Ballast Box (Code 4020): $182.00
* iMatch Compatible Ballast Box With Extension (Code 4030): $270

What is the difference between these two? What is the extension they are referring to?

I appreciate any insight. Thank you.

If I remember right the extension allows you to put more weight in the ballast box.

Yup, the extension is another little box that fits on top...

You can see this and more in the Online Manual

The extension is just another rectangular steel sleeve that sits on top of the regular ballast box. I have one. It allows one to add additional weight of gravel, sand, etc. to increase the ballast weight.

Bob, it might be easier if you'd tell us which options you DON'T have /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Well, Mike....I don't have the Power Beyond Kit for that 48 backhoe which I also don't have yet but salivate over. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif This 4710 tractor deal was a budget buster for me.....just starting to fill that piggy bank back up again. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I'd like to have the tree he uses to fill his piggy bank.. any way that I can get a sapling or two?

I did get some non-JD forks this weekend and I'm awaiting my HD bucket w/replaceable edge. I also thought seriously about buying the 3-pt Frontier Rake. Got one of those, Bob?

Well, I GOTthe 47, and then didn't have the money to replace the mower we shredded on its maiden ride behind the new tractor /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

But now, the grass is baked. So I should be fixed up next season....

That hoe sure is nice. Don't even think about a differant color if you do go for one!

Yep, I sure do Bob. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif See pic attached. It's the Frontier 1172 combo rake with a foldable grader blade. This is the 3pt attachment I've used most often since purchasing the 4710. It's a very nifty piece of equipment. I use the rake to grade the logging trails in summer and I drop the blade down in winter to plow snow. I'd highly recommend it.

Green is the only way I'd go Mike. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I've bought JD products since 1984 when I bought my first riding lawn tractor...the JD 111. I've been happy with every JD product I've ever purchased.
