JD 950 Engine

I am looking for an engine for my JD 950... something came apart inside and blew a hole thru the block...

Try a Deere dealer... they have an inter-dealership network where they can search/ask for/locate parts...

Thanks...Contacted my local dealer, they said with the popularity of the 950 it might be hard to find a used or rebuilt engine...a new engine runs about $5000.00... that's what I paid for the tractor... anybody know of sources for a rebuilds ???

Try http://www.adeptr.com/agyards.htm. It lists salvage yrds. Also, 950s were made by Yanmar. It may be possible to get a Yanmar and do a heart transplant. Go to the Yanmar forum and ask if there is a grey equivalent. Or you may find a Yanmar Diesel dealer to order one from japan for less $. Many Yanmars are used in the marine/boat industry.

What size motor is in the 950? Surplus Center has new Yanmar 23.7 HP for 2195.00
