My JD 790 will not start. To date I have tried to:
* clean all contact points with the negative cable and replaced the connection bolt.
* Took the battery to the JD dealer and he said it tested fine
* Cleaned up the standard JD 790 corrosion in the battery bay (pictures) and covered with rustoleum.
* cleaned all contact points to the starter.
When I turned the key, all I get is a large snap or buzzing sound. No turn over of the engine.
Any Ideas would be most appreciated.
Sincerely,

I had the same problem with my 790. After reading the troubleshooting section on the manual I decided to check the fuses and found that the fuse for the fuel solenoid had blown. I replaced the fuse and the tractor started only to blow the fuse again after two or three minutes. I contacted my dealer and a rep came to my house and replaced the solenoid, and battery as well. Haven't had a problem since then.
