JD 6410 Transmission Problem

Hi all,

We have a JD 6410 with a 24 speed power quad transmission (with app. 7900 hours).

The tractor has recently lost the ability to move forward in any gear, but will still move in reverse. The forward/reverse selector stays in place when put in the forward or reverse position.

Has anyone had a similar issue before?

I’ve read of the problem. It’s not all that uncommon with age. Problem is I can’t remember where I read about it. It was a farm tractor forum.

You do have a left hand reverser? I would start with that. It's electrical isn't it?

Nice to see that many hours. My 98 6200 only has 1100 hours! Kind of. Threw the synchromesh tranny in the garbage (where it belonged) and put in a rebuilt used power quad with lf reverser.
