JD 4500 Bodywork

My JD is about 15 years old & has 2000 hours on it. It has been used mostly as an excavator & for land clearing work. Needless to say, the bodywork is rough, broken up, etc. I have tried to fix it (w/ fiberglass/SMC repair) but right now it is beyond repair. Replacing all the bodywork piece by piece will cost about $1500. Does anyone make a 'body kit' ? Otherwise, I may try to fab up a light frame & make a sheetmetal enclosure. This would take some effort & would not look as good.

Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Unlike a 1979 jeep cj7 I built 20 years ago, I doubt you will find an aftermarket body, fiberglass or otherwise, for your tractor. To put it bluntly, it sounds like you realize what your options are, pick one. A body kit, if there were one, would likely be in the same price range as the parts you already priced. If you have the resources and skills, fab up something.

Perhaps you could look through craigslist or ebay for someone trying to sell panels. Good luck. Roger
