Anyone have a 4320 and hear a whining noise coming from the power steering? I don't know if it's one of the hydraulic pumps working extra hard or what. I just got it in August so it's a bit different than my 4200. Maybe it's a normal noise. Just wondering.
Thanks

I have a 4320 and I do hear a whine. I'm not sure it was the PS, I'll try to listen for it more closely.

My steering causes whining also, sometimes louder than other times. I believe it is normal, the hydraulic pump is being utilized for power assist. My 4320 is in the shop right now for warranty work, so if there is something not right, I am sure the mechanic will notice and correct it. I am not used to hydraulic noises, especially from the hydro. I always had gear tractors before this, and they only had gear whine from the transmission, not the hydraulics.

Thanks guys. Here I thought I had a problem and it's a normal thing. or we are all having the same problem /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. For michiglenn I had a 4200 for 4 years with a ehydro and never got a hydraulic noise from it. So i think this is unique to this series. Lets hope it's normal boys.

Davo,
Nothing serious. Innacurate fuel gage, a noise in the rockshaft when lifting, the inside of the instument panel bezel has some streaks of liquid on it, one front tire loses air, and a couple of other things I can't recall. I have been writing down little things for a couple of months, and I figured winter would be the best time for both of us to have them work on it. With over 200 hours on it, any bugs should have been noticed by now. It has been such a good tractor I feel guilty for bringing it in on such piddly things, but I paid good money for it and the dealer has been known to do more than expected when brought in for warranty work (powerwashing, fluid and filters, etc., n/c). That's one of the reasons I bought a Deere, they are generally going to make sure you are satisfied and will want to keep doing business with them. I am planning this one will last my lifetime and probably my kid's, too.

Mine only makes noise when my backhoe is off . When it makes noise you can feel it in the steering.
