JD 4000 Series Availability Problems

I was intersted in looking at some 4000 series tractors, but the local dealership chain said they aren't in production and the only way they can get one is to order it. Well, that doesn't really work for me, plus it means I will be paying a premium because it's not on the lot.

So is anyone else having trouble finding a 4000 series to test drive?

Can't blame you for wanting to see before you buy. I differ with the opinion that you will be paying a premium because it is not on the lot. I would consider the ordered tractor with a small deposit a safer bet for the dealership and would expect about 18% off list on your order.

Today I was inquiring about the new 4 series. I was told that if you want a 4720 that they are no longer making them however if you wanted a 4520 you could still order it. This was in Ontario, Canada so it should be the same in the States as well.
