Backhoe JD 3320 with backhoe

Well I think I've decided to purchase a new JD 3320 (after lengthy deliberation). I want to put a backhoe on it..either the JD375 or
JD485. I was wondering if anyone has either of these setups and could give me some input to help me decide which hoe to get.

I was thinking about the same thing. I spoke with two dealers and each recommends the 375 even though they admit the 485 fits. One said that the 485 will work okay on the 3520 and 3720 but discouraged it for the lower hp versions of the 3000. I notice that the Woods BH90-X won't even on the 3000 series. I kind of wonder whether the extra power and reach of the 485 matters that much in the real world.

Makes no sense - 3320, 3520, and 3720 have an implement hydraulic flow rate of 8.6 gpm. Doesn't take more hp to run the hydraulic pump.

I have a model 448 on my 3320 which works just fine. I could be wrong, but I remember that my choice was between a 447 and 448 and the dealer said the '48 would work and is what people usually put on. Not sure what a 485 is, but the specs are the same as the 448.

Yeah...I would wonder why your dealer's don't understand that hydraulic capacity is not directly related to motor hp...and if JD says it will work, IT WILL WORK!!

485 is just an updated model.

Another mystiyfing model # change. A 448 becomes a 485. The 448 must really have been a 484 so that the 485 can be superceded by a 486. It will probably be superceded by a 648.

Sunrise can't tell what part of the county you live in but TriGreen in the Southeast has (8) 3520 in stock with a 0% interest for 60 months. You can even pick up the tryed and tested 790 for 0% for 48 months. (5) remaining in stock. This opens up your backhoe options even more.

Gee, I wish i could have gotten that for the balance on mine, that would have made payment sweet!

The jump from the 8' to a 9' hoe is a major factor when it comes to leverage. Even though the 3320 may have the hydraulic power to run the 9' hoe, you may find yourself not having the weight to hold the tractor in position on the ground

Looks to me like the 485 is the version of the 448 which would be cab capatible; otherwise it's the same hoe as the '48.
