Looking at buying a one owner Jd 318 with 715 hours. Been garaged all its life but paint is a bit faded. Seat has been replaced. Engine surges on start up but I believe that is due to old gas. Service and owners manuals. Deck is a 50" that appears to be in good shape. These seem like very well built machines? Guy is stuck at $2000. I think it is more at $1700. Not very familiar with these tractors. Looking to buy as a second machine for wife to help with yard. Any input would be appreciated.

The 318s are good tractors.
The surging is most likely a carb problem, at it's age, it really needs to be gone through and rebuilt.

The above machine did not pan out. I did find 2 one owner 318's that have been very well maintained. 1400 and 1800 hours on the B series Onans. They are at $4750 for both machines, a 46,48 and 50' deck, snow plow, snow blower, tire chains and a box of new JD air and oil Filters and belts. Manuals too. I have not seen them in person but have texted pics and vids back and forth with the owner. I understand the hours should not be an issue if they have been maintained. They look to be very well cared for. Garaged and all original paint. What do you think?
