JD 2520 "ticking" noise

Curious also. I had a ticking noise on my 2320. Found out what it was when the fan belt let go. The ticking was a frayed piece hitting some structure. Annoying but a pretty cheap fix. Replaced it with a Gates instead of the original Japanese unit.

well exhaust gaskets didnt fix mine or adjusting the rockers. Dealer doesnt want to help anymore so any ideas would help. The dealer has now told me that its just a characteristic of my engine.

When you say tick, I really hope you don't mean 'clunk'? That's usually a sign that you need to replace a boot/cv/axle, which can be pricy (though if need be, you can grab aftermarket parts somewhere like AmericanCVStore.com and they can help you out a bit on price). Good luck, I hope you figure out / have figured out the cause of the tick!

Update.... Have never been able to find the source of the "tick".....however.... The noise has reduced significantly as time goes on. Dealer has been unable to find anything.

Tractor seems to run fine still.
