Snow JD 2305 47" snowblower can only throw snow about 15-20'

In Maine too... Your 47" throws it as far as the 47" that I have on the front of my 455. In all honestly, I think the 47" throws it further than the 59" that I have on the front of my 4210.

I would also recommend an Original Tractor Cab enclosure. For the money, it cannot be beat. I put one on my 455 and it was the best money that I have spent. No more snow in the face and freezing your butt off. Three years later it is still holding up really well.

I am right in southern maine if you ever wanted to check the cab out before buying.

Hi Chuck and Welcome...to Fantasy Island. I'm the one who has the video on YouTube that someone linked earlier (yay). I just uploaded another one that might or might not shed more light on your subject:

The snow was blowing out of lighting range, but it was easily landing at least 30 ft away at some points, depending on my chute angle. And I don't use any lubricants on the blower parts either, not that I think it is a bad idea.

With regard to your new machinery, allow some time to get to know its personality a bit. As probably mentioned by others, the throw distance can depend on plethora variables. Sometimes you'll swear the snow must be landing in the next town and sometimes you'll be sure there must be something wrong with the machine because it won't move more than about 10-15 feet. It's just the way it is with snow and winter.
