JD 160 (pre 80) will not start

At the end of the season last year, my ignition switch went bad and I had to replace the switch. Now the mower will not start. The gas is good, battery is good, mower has spark, the fan turns, but the engine will not crack. Any suggestions?

Do you know if you are getting voltage at the starter? It could be the solenoid.

I had a similar problem last year after doing a lot of work with the tractor. When I went to have the unit serviced the mechanic could not get a decent compression reading. I ended up buying a second hand motor on E-Bay and will have the original motor re-built at a later time. I really like the 165 and will keep rebuilding it as long as I can get parts.
